The Art Lab is located at 1030 South Rangeline Road, Suite 270, Carmel, Indiana 46032.

Mixed Media Young Artist Parties: (1.5 hrs): $225 / 10 participants, additional $21.50 each up to 16.  (2 hrs): $250 / 10 participants, additional $24.00 each up to 12

Mini Mixed Media Young Artist: (1.5hrs): $150.00 / 6 participants or less (2 hrs) $175.00

Painting and Fashion Parties: (2 hours) $250 / 10 participants, additional $24.00 each up to 16

Mini Paint:  (2hrs) $175 / 6 participants or less

Mosaic Parties: (2hrs) $285 / 10 participants, additional $26.50 each up to 16

Mini Mosaic: (2hrs) $185 / 6 participants or less

Pottery Parties: (2hrs) $285 / 10 participants, additional $26.50 each up to 16 (includes hand-building and pottery wheel experience, firing and local delivery.)

Gather together for an art birthday, farewell or end of year party, whatever the occasion we have the perfect party for your artist. Parties are blocked for two hour periods, unless listed otherwise. Art projects last approximately 1.5 hours depending on parent preference.  Pick a  party theme or work with us so that we can tailor your activities to your artist’s interests. You’ll have a private teacher and all kids will take home a personal artwork and provided goodie bag, unless specified that artwork will be delivered at a later date.   Food, drinks and paper products are not provided but may be brought to the classroom.

Typical itinerary: 10 minutes goodie bag decoration, 1.20 minutes guided art projects, 30 minutes cake / refreshments or presents organized by the parents. (Goodie bags include: memo pad, stickers, crayons and suckers. They are provided.)

Did you know, we can come to you too! Tables and stools can be provided as well as all art materials in your very own driveway or backyard.

Art Party Themes

Mixed Media Young Artist Parties 5 – 7 years (1.5hrs or 2hrs)

Mixed media parties for young children 5 – 7 years old include goodie bags and decoration, an oil pastel and watercolor painting and a collaged, painted or stamped picture frame. You can add an air dry clay craft if you want to do a longer party. If you have a different book or theme we can work with you!

Mixed Media Themes:

Wild Things – Read Where the Wild Things Are and create a crayon and watercolor painted creature with a collaged for painted frame.  Learn about drawing shapes and textures.  (4-6yrs)

I Love Art (2hrs) Read the book Louise Loves Art about a little girl who loves to create. Get inspired by the story and create crayon and watercolor paintings of Louise’s cat, create a collage picture frame and air-dry clay faces. Take all art with you and set up your own gallery like Louise at home. (3-8yrs)

Draw It  Paint It Sculpt It (2hrs) – This theme centered (cats, fairies, construction, Legos etc) is a tactile and expressive introduction to painting, drawing and air dry clay sculpture. Children will leave with an oil pastel resist painting, collaged picture frame, air-dry clay craft and goodie bag.  Pick your own painting theme or let us help you. (3-8yrs)

Little Potter Party (2hrs)- Stamp and cut with cookie cutters. Add shapes to decorate a decorative picture frame or plate. Try out the pottery wheel and assist in making a small bowl. Glaze both projects. Final projects can be picked up or delivered 3-4 weeks prior to the party date.

Ages 6 and up (2hrs)

Design It – Children love to decorate their bedrooms. Paint a framed cork board in geometric patterns. Kids will be introduced to mosaic design, contrast and rhythm. (6 and up)

High Fashion – Paint and embellish a small zipper purse using paints and acrylic gems.  Create a headband decorated with ribbon and flowers. (age 5 and up)

Fashion Designer for Dolls – Shirts, skirts and accessories, it is time to design and make special clothes for dolls. Children will use pre cut patterns and sew and embellish from a variety of glitzy fun fabrics, buttons, flowers, feathers and ribbons. Both  hand sewing techniques and glue will be used or you may choose a no sew option.  Choose 18″ dolls or Barbie size fashions and bring your favorite doll to the party! There is young child option for this party that includes decorating simple tie dresses with sharpies and glue on accessories. Also included in this party are matching embellished headbands for girls and dolls.

Funky Mosaic Cork Board Frames or Flower Pots – A totally fun workshop! Children will love playing with this additive mosaic method. Using a variety of materials, broken plates, marbles, glass shapes, toys, keyboard letters and more! create a up-cycled, one of a kind and quirky and beautiful art work.     (age 6 and up)

Glass Mosaic Frames – Design your own mosaic picture frame using from colorful glass and ceramic tiles. Older children can use mosaic snips to cut glass pieces or younger guests can arrange small tiles own their own. Design your tiles from a variety specialty mosaic tesserae on a paper template. Then, spread adhesive grout to your picture frame and place your tiles. We’ll wipe away any excess grout.  Party includes another themed craft such as watercolor pencil picture and finished picture frame.

Paint It Step by Step – Consult with an art lab instructor and pick a theme. Children will be walked step by step through an acrylic painting.  Of course, imagination is always encouraged. Themes can be built around your party for example, monsters, insects, fairy tale, famous paintings, groovy flowers and more. Paintings are 9 x 12″ or 12″ x 12″ and can include an air dry clay craft as well depending on project. (6 and up)

Electric Circuits

Insects: Create an insect from materials including pool noodles, pipe cleaners, wire, foam shapes and beads. Incorporate a small vibrating motor and children will be amazed to watch their insects move across the table! Using the parts that make up an electric toothbrush: on / off switch, battery, vibrating motor and connecting circuits children will make their insects come to life. Robots: Learn about basic circuitry by investigating the parts that make up an electric toothbrush: on / off switch, battery, vibrating motor and connecting circuits. Create a moving robot from various parts including toothbrush components, jello cups, ping-pong balls, tapes, metallic pipe cleaners and stickers. Clay:

Picture Frames and Pottery Wheel – Create a clay picture frame and decorate with stamps, cookie cutter cut clay shapes and your own creations. Vase Faces and Pottery Wheel – Create a cylindrical slab vase and construct a clay face. Will your face be an animal, person, robot? Also during this party take turns trying out the pottery wheel and create a small bowl. Glaze both projects. Final projects can be picked up or delivered 3-4 weeks prior to the party date.

Name Plaques and Pottery Wheel – Create an artistic name plaque with your name sculpted out of coiled letters. Add cut out shapes, stamps, flowers or more. Also during this party take turns trying out the pottery wheel and create a small bowl. Glaze both projects. Final projects can be picked up or delivered 3-4 weeks prior to the party date.

Animal Bowls and Pottery Wheel – Create an animal bowl, unicorn, birds, dogs or other by making a pinch pot and then adding your own animal parts. Also during this party take turns trying out the pottery wheel and create a small bowl. Glaze both projects. Final projects can be picked up or delivered 3-4 weeks prior to the party date.

Other options include: bird house or feeder, animal face, sloths or other projects to fit your theme.
