Liturgy of the Hours – Prayer and Reflection though Art
Did you know prayer, meditation and making art have something in common? All invite us to slow down and reflect…an inherent ability we all possess but need to use. In that still place within we see deeper themes, at times even cluing us in to our truest selves. Mark making and color are just some of the tools that make the invisible- visible turning prayer into an incarnational experience. Consider making an art retreat based on the Liturgy of the Hours or the Psalms to bring a refined clarity to your prayer practice.
Instructor Deborah Kolp
Is finding focus hard? Never have the time to let your mind be still? Enjoy a quiet contemplative retreat away from your hectic everyday life. Art Lab instructors will facilitate two centering projects, creating a hand-painted mandala plate in dishwasher safe paints and creating a bowl on the pottery wheel to accompany your plate. Bring a group of friends, food and drink and discuss some of the major stressors in your life while finding a focal point for the future. (need 3 hours)
Instructors Jeremy South and /or Maren Bell
Watercolor mandalas are available instead of plates as well.
