Summer Camps

Our half-day camps at the Cat Theatre will keep your child busy with creative activities and problem solving throughout the week. Our low class sizes and  flexible creative environment make learning individual to all students. All materials are provided and our teaching artists are professionals with full background checks and extensive teaching experience.

Minimum camp number 4, Maximum camp number 10

Students will be grouped by ages unless requested otherwise.

Jewelry 

This three day camp explores art you can wear as jewelry. Work with colorful polymer clay and sculpt figurines that could include superheroes or characters from a movie or book.  Come to camp with an idea of your favorite character! Other jewelry projects include Shrinky dink jewelry and Egyptian coil bracelets.

People and Creatures Multimedia

Spend each day exploring different art media. Create creatures during a day of clay, paper sculpture building, figures model portraits of your classmates including practicing gestures and portraits.  Drawing and painting days include color pencil blending and painting techniques. .

Summer Fun Multimedia

Spend each day exploring different art media and the world that comes alive in the summer. Build in clay including critters like frogs or dragonflies. Create jars of sculptural insects and painted flip flops and sunglasses you can wear.  Painting days include under the waters animals and ice cream paintings.

Famous Artist Multimedia 

Be inspired by a different artist everyday from different parts of the world and throughout time. Each day explores a new medium. Spend a day building in clay that includes looking at Pablo Picaso’s animal sculptures. Learn about pastels and draw flowers inspired by Pierre – Auguste Renoir, travel to Africa to see masks and make your own and more surprise artists who have inspired others.

Pottery Wheel Fusion Mega Adventures in Clay!  

Are you ready for big projects with big adventures!  Do you enjoy working on the pottery wheel!  Every day involves a new adventure on and off the pottery wheel!  Students create part of the daily project on the wheel for a total of 5 opportunities.  A castle of mystery, jungle adventures, monster island and more!  You will glaze and add glass to your projects for an amazing color combination.  Projects include clay, glass and the pottery wheel each day, five awesome projects in all.  Everything is made from scratch and no experience is needed.  All projects will be fired and finished for pick-up about 4 weeks after the camp.
